BITB Review (2026): The Cheapest Ticket, From the Crypto-Native Shop

BY THE BITCOIN ALMANACK TEAM·UPDATED JUL 2026·9 MIN READ·● BTC {{ price }}·CONTAINS AFFILIATE LINKS
OUR VERDICT LOWEST FEE + TRANSPARENT 8.7/10
BITB undercuts the giants at 0.20% and is the only major bitcoin ETF that publishes its on-chain wallet addresses, letting anyone verify holdings block by block. Bitwise is crypto-native and donates a slice of profits to Bitcoin open-source development. Liquidity is good, not IBIT-good — fine for buy-and-hold.
WHAT WE LIKED

Proof, not promises

Bitwise publishes BITB’s bitcoin addresses, so its reserves are verifiable by anyone with a block explorer — the ETF equivalent of proof-of-reserves, and a standard we wish every issuer met.

The fee leader

0.20% is the lowest headline fee among major US spot bitcoin ETFs. On $100,000 held ten years, the 0.05% gap versus IBIT compounds to real money; on smaller or shorter positions it is trivia.

Who Bitwise is

A crypto-specialist asset manager, not a generalist giant — which cuts both ways: deeper conviction and domain expertise, smaller balance sheet. Its pledge of profits to Bitcoin developers is unique among issuers.
Buy it if…
You are holding long-term, want the lowest fee, and like verifiable on-chain transparency.
Skip it if…
You need maximum liquidity for large or frequent trades.

Common questions

Is a smaller issuer riskier?

The bitcoin is held at a qualified custodian regardless of issuer size; if an ETF ever closed, holders would be cashed out at NAV. Issuer size affects products and spreads more than safety.

Where can I verify BITB’s holdings?

Bitwise publishes the addresses on its site — you can watch the coins on-chain in real time.

BITB or ARKB?

Nearly identical fees (0.20% vs 0.21%) and custody. BITB’s transparency edge vs ARKB’s slightly higher volume — pick your tiebreaker.
